Was Noah Good book cover

Was Noah Good?

In this academic monograph, Was Noah Good? Finding Favour in the Flood Narrative (LHBOTS, T&T Clark, 2014), the role of divine favor in the flood story is explored. Kaminski argues that Noah is not saved because he is good but because of divine favor (Gen. 6:8). It is only after the Noah has obeyed God’s command (“by faith”) that he is declared righteous and given permission to enter the ark (Gen. 7:1; cf. Gen. 6:9).

From Noah to Israel book cover

From Noah to Israel

In this academic monograph, From Noah to Israel: Realization of the Primaeval Blessings After the Flood (JSOTSup 413; T&T Clark, 2004), the creation blessing given to humanity (Gen. 1:26-28) is traced in the book of Genesis. Kaminski argues that the blessing is not fulfilled in the Table of Nations but is first being realized through Israel (Gen. 47:27; Exod. 1:7), in according with God’s promise to multiply Abraham’s descendants (Gen. 17:2, 6).
